Refraction - is the change in direction of a wave due to a change in speeed
electro magnetic field - exerts force on particles with an electronic charge and is effected by their presence and motion
photon - the carrier of electronic radiation of all wavelengths
wave - a disturbance in time/space that is usually from the transfer of energy
electromagnetic radiation - is light. self propagating wave in space with electric and magnetic components
wave propagation - is the way a wave travels through a medium
energy - the quantity property of an object that is maintained by nature
vacuum - a volume of space that is empty of matter
radiation - energy in the form of waves
The speed of light - roughly 186 miles per second
speed of light through fiber optic cable is 30% slower than the speed of light through a vacuum
speed of light from computer to computer including cable, routing, and regenerating the signal is .18 seconds

The Happiest Place On Earth

I watched a 20/20 special on TV tonight.
America is the 23rd happiest place to live in the world.
#1 is Denmark and they pay 60% in taxes. They are a post-consumerist society. They have socialized healthcare. And best of all very low crime. People leave baby's in strollers outside stores and their bikes unlocked.

The happiest societies are those with a strong communities. The people of the slums of calcutta are happier than the people of california.
